About Secret Vines Experience Port Macquarie Winery Tour Guide

As a  struggling student I took a job at a local bottle shop. I didn't like wine, but many people sought help, so I asked the boss for help, and began learning about wine. Finally came that lightbulb moment when I understood.  An affair with the grape ensued,  including wine education in France, and  later hosting of wine appreciation courses.

SVE doesn't do farm visits or immersive wellness tours, or the like but sticks to its area of  recognised excellence.

Skiers know the difference between private ski lessons and group classes.  Precisely because of the difference those few extra numbers make, SVE limits tour numbers to 4, not up to 10 or so.

A Secret Vines Experience is a day of full of unforgettable memories  being very welcome guests at Port Macquarie's  outstanding and unique wineries. Every moment introduces another adventure into the wonderful world of local wines and cuisine **[see blog]  through Secret Vines Experience.

Wine and Food of Greater Port Macquarie

The Secret Vines Experience of Greater Port Macquarie explores local vineyards in a tour, led by a  recognised wine expert.  Tasting Fees, Water,  crackers, local knowledge, flexibility, and, of course great conversation are all included.

You'll remember the day, picked up in style from your accommodation, driving down charming country lanes, the remarkable flavours of the tastings, perhaps a gourmet lunch (at your expense) or picnic, before being dropped back to your accommodation, with a bottle or two, (or maybe a case and some liqueurs!) to remember the day.

A Personalised
Experience

With a limit of 4 persons per tour, definitely not an impersonal bus tour, rather, a stylish exploration of up to four of the best of Port Macquarie’s local wineries, (and eateries) providing a truly a uniquely,  authentic  experience.
Guest pick up is from your accommodation in a luxury Audi, then we travel along  some of the picturesque laneways leading to local vineyards.
We can visit regional cellar doors  ranging from larger, well established wineries to small artisanal vineyards. Depending on the day  (some wineries don’t open every day) we will visit 3 or 4 of these top rating cellar doors: Cassegrain*, Bago, Douglas Vale, Long Point, Innes Lake*
There are lunch options: you could bring a picnic (rug supplied!), or, if you’re happy to spend a little extra, you could enjoy a cheese platter after browsing artworks at a boutique gallery, or as some of the wineries (marked*) have restaurants – they can be booked for lunch if you let us know well enough in advance. ... (although impromptu is nearly always possible)

What you'll need to bring

The Secret Vines Experience provides, bottled water, crackers, fresh fruit, local knowledge, flexibility, (and of course great conversation) on an authentic, informative and personalised experience at local wineries (and more) around Port Macquarie. Get in touch if you would like to book and discuss a tailored experience.
You'll need to be reasonably ambulatory, as some vineyards are accessed by unmade paths, staircases etc, and, if it's raining, you may need to bring rain wear or umbrellas. If lunch is on the agenda several local restaurants have cuisine to  complement the days tastings, and as this is not included you will need to bring cash or your credit card!
